Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the unvi.be website and the code scanning service offered on it (together, the “Service”), operated by unvi.be (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By submitting code, linking a repository, providing your email, or ticking the box that references these Terms, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

01What the Service does

The Service analyzes the source code you submit and returns a report describing potential security, configuration, and quality issues it finds. You submit code in one of two ways: by uploading a file (a .zip, .html, or .tsx, up to 150 MB), or by linking a public Git repository, from which we fetch the default branch. You provide an email address so we can deliver the report to you.

Your code is scanned in an isolated sandbox environment. We do not execute your application. The source code you submit is deleted after the scan completes and is not retained by us. The report we generate about your code is retained so we can deliver it and so you can return to it. See our Privacy Policy for details on what we keep and for how long.

02Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

03Your code and your rights to it

You must only submit code that you own or that you have a clear right to submit for analysis. By submitting code or linking a repository, you represent and warrant that:

• you own the code, or you have permission from its owner to have it scanned;
• submitting it does not breach any license, confidentiality obligation, or third-party right;
• any repository you link is one you are permitted to share, and you accept that we fetch its default branch as it exists at the time of submission;
• the code does not contain malware, and you are not submitting it to attack, probe, or overload the Service.

You keep all ownership of your code. We claim no rights in it beyond the limited, temporary permission to process it in order to produce your report.

04Acceptable use and limits

The Service is offered with usage limits (for example, a cap on how many scans you can run per hour and per month from a single address). These limits keep the Service available for everyone. You agree not to:

• circumvent, script around, or otherwise evade the usage limits or rate limits;
• use the Service to store, distribute, or process unlawful, infringing, or malicious content;
• interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure;
• resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written consent.

05The report is guidance, not a guarantee

The report is generated with automated and AI-based tooling. It is provided for informational purposes to help you understand potential issues in your application. It is not a certification, a warranty of security, or a substitute for a professional security audit or legal, financial, or compliance advice.

Automated analysis can miss real issues (false negatives) and can flag things that are not actually problems (false positives). We do not warrant that the report is complete, accurate, or fit for any particular purpose. You are responsible for reviewing, validating, and acting on its contents, and for any changes you make to your own code as a result.

06Free access and paid options

Core scanning is offered free within the usage limits described above. We may offer paid options (for example, additional scans or follow-on services) for a stated fee. Any prices shown at the point of purchase apply to that purchase. Unless required by law or stated otherwise at checkout, fees are non-refundable. We may change our pricing and what is included in the free tier at any time, on a going-forward basis.

07Intellectual property

The Service, including the website, the scanning engine, the report format, and all related text, design, and software, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service as intended. The report we deliver to you is yours to use for your own purposes.

08Third-party services

We rely on third-party providers to operate the Service, including cloud hosting, an email delivery provider, and an AI model provider used to analyze code. Your use of the Service involves these providers processing data on our behalf. Where you link a repository, your use is also subject to the terms of the code host (such as GitHub or GitLab).

09Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any defect will be corrected.

10Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, or business, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the three months before the claim, or USD 50.

11Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from code you submit, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

12Suspension and termination

We may suspend or restrict access to the Service, or decline to process a submission, if we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached or that a submission poses a risk to the Service or others. You may stop using the Service at any time.

13Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.

14Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Czech Republic.
